The Sports Genius Watch Tracker is a a Cell Phone + GPS tracker + GPS datalogger + watch. Not only does it tell time, but the integrated GSM and GPS modules enable it to make and receive calls, track user movements and beam out current location via SMS. It also provides the means for logging runs and points of interest. Saved data can be uploaded to mapping software.

The device displays system setting, current coordination data and satellite indicator among other info. It transmits both longitude and latitude coordinates to a cell phone via SMS and can also be tracked online in real time by GPRS.

Mobile Communication: General Mobile GM500 Watch Phone

General Mobile introduced the GM500, its wristwatch phone at CeBIT 2008. The GM500 claims to be among the smallest GSM mobile phones ever created. The GM500 features a 1.5-inch OLED touchscreen, tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz with GPRS, WAP, SMS and MMS, Bluetooth, Internet capabilities, an mp3 player, a video player, and a voice recorder.

It has 128MB of built-in memory and boasts 120 minutes of talk time and about 80 hours of standby time. The GM500 measures 2.29 x 1.74 x 0.65 inches.

Watch Phone that Looks Like a Watch: Epoq EGP-WP88

The Epoq EGP-WP88 watch by looks like a classic dress watch but it's a GSM phone and much more.

Cellphone-wise, it supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900 with 120-150 minutes talk time, 70-100 hours standby time, and includes 300 groups of contacts, incoming call with big head sticker, and grouping ring. It supports messages and multimedia messaging (SMS, MMS), and 64 chord ringtones in MP3 and MIDI formats. In addition, it includes telephone directories with 300 groups of contacts of carte de visit, support incoming call with big head sticker, and grouping ring.

Watch-wise, the EGP-WP88 features a 5-group alarm clock that can be set from Monday to Sunday at random, a calendar, world time, and a stopwatch.

Multimedia player-wise, the EGP-WP88 supports MP3 and WAV audio, 3GP and MP4 video, JPG and GIF images

Turtle Wireless, new to CES, introduced the TWP-800 - a revolutionary tri-band GSM phone designed to be worn like a wristwatch. This electronic device comes with a stereo Bluetooth headset, MP3/MP4 capabilities, touch screen, WAP/GPRS compatibility, and more. The TWP-800 will be available to the Latin American market starting mid-January.

More Than a Watch: The LG Watch Phone

I admit to being easily distracted by gadgets. This little CES 2008 gadget by LG is a watch phone. It's a tad big and would have been awesome with a touch screen but... it's a watch phone! It isn't shown in the video but I assume it uses a Bluetooth headset for actual communication. Pretty neat!
