Walkman On Top: Sony Ericsson W980

The Sony Ericsson W980 doesn't look like a cellphone but that's intentional. The controls and display of the Walkman are placed on top of the mobile phone, so the user doesn't have to open the handset to control the media player. SE has dubbed this design "Walkman on Top"(*).

The W980 comes with 8GB of internal memory, built-in stereo speakers, and an FM-transmitter that allows users to share tunes through an FM radio. And the W980 comes with a Stereo Portable Handsfree HPM-77 headset for clear quality sound and hands-free call-answering. Nice!

(*)Because iPod theft has become pretty common, iPod owners have adopted their own Walkman-on-top method to hide their highly sought-after iPods - store them in the shell of an unused 1980s Sony Walkman. Pretty ironic, don't you think?
