The new Archos 5 and Archos 7 "generation 6" players (Internet media tablets) offer capacities as high as 320GB, high-res screens and support just about every codec -- plus available plug-ins to cover the rest.

The Archos 5 features a 4.8-inch 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen, Adobe Flash™ 9 video support, ARM® Cortex™ superscalar microprocessor, built-in speaker, full web browsing, full e-mail application, Web TV, Web radio, audio and video recording (via optional DVR station), Wi-Fi, and 60GB, 120GB, or 250GB capacity.

It supports MP3, WMA, Protected WMA, WMA pro 5.1, WAV, AAC3 and AAC+ audio; MPEG-42, WMV including WMV protected files, MPEG-2, AC3 stereo sound, H.264, AAC, and M-JPEG video; JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF images; and reads PDF documents.

Battery is estimated at 12 hours audio playback and 4 hours video playback.

The Archos 7 features a 7-inch 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen, Adobe Flash™ 9 video support, ARM® Cortex™ superscalar microprocessor, 2 built-in speakers, full web browsing, full e-mail application, Web TV, Web radio, audio and video recording (via optional DVR station), Wi-Fi, and 160GB, or 320GB capacity.

It supports MP3, WMA, Protected WMA, WMA pro 5.1, and WAV audio; MPEG-4, WMV including WMV protected files, WMV, and M-JPEG video; JPEG, BMP, PNG, and GIF images; and reads PDF documents.

Battery is estimated at 12 hours audio playback and 4 hours video playback.

The Archos 5g adds in 3.5 HSDPA data, providing true on-the-go surfing.
