Archos 604 Wi-Fi Portable Digital Media Player and Recorder

This portable media player (PMP) is pretty remarkable. It's not only an mp3, video, movie player, and picture viewer but with an optional docking station, it's a DVR too. And it's tiny!

The Archos 604 30GB Wi-Fi, Ultra-Slim Portable Digital Media Player and Recorder has a 4.3" screen size surface that's three times that of similar size PMPs with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 480 x 272 pixels of resolution. It boasts an intuitive GUI (graphic user interface) for easy-to-use navigation. The PMP not only plays videos and movies, but stores up to a whopping 85 movies on its hard drive in either MPEG-4 or WMV formats at up to DVD resolution.

It also displays high resolution pictures complete with features such as zoom, music, and transition effects too. It display JPEG, BMP, and PNG file formats and can even read and display PDF documents.

The Archos 604 is music player, storing and playing up to 15,000 songs in MP3, WMA, protected WMA, and WAV (PCM/ADPCM) formats.

The Archos 604 is fully compatible with DVD-quality VOD (video on demand) and online music stores. It has a built-in Wi-Fi module and internet browser. The Archos 604 can be turned into a DVR capable of recording from a TV, VCR, DVD Player and cable box or satellite receiver with the optional DVR Station. With the DVR Station, the Archos 604 content can be played back on a television.

The Archos 604 is compatible with both PCs and Macs with a USB port and Linux, Windows ME or higher, or OS X or higher. The media player allows firmware updates to be downloaded.
